Random Monday Picture...

I am trying something new... I will be putting up some random picture that I have and me being random I will probably say something about it. We will see how long I can keep this up.

When in doubt dress up like a princess and dance!  A dull moment will never befall you if you follow this rule.

vacation and school started...

So I have gotten a lecture from some people (cough Mary cough cough) that I haven't posted about my vacation to the very exciting Iowa! (And yes it was exciting because Jayne and Alexia were there to entertain to me). I will give a basic run down of what happened:

Friday I flew to Arizona because the road trip idea failed when Grandpa Rob became sicker. So I met my Uncle Scotty at the airport and spent the night at his house. Then early Saturday morning I caught my 7 am, 2 hour and 45 minute flight from Mesa. When we finally touched down I was so excited to see Jayne and Alexia we caught each other up over hot dogs and root beer. Apparently Alexia and hot dogs go hand in hand... Mac and Cheese too... We took a tour of the city (it took a whole of 3 minutes, Yeah North Liberty) and walked around the mall. Sunday was Church; Jayne was hoping to introduce me to a cute boy... but he had already moved to Utah to attend BYU. Monday we spent the day at the Children's museum. Tuesday we went swimming, Alexia went off the high diving board but only after I did first. So we both had to conquer our fears... mine is heights... and jump! Wednesday I babysat while Jayne and her companion went visiting teaching. Thursday was my favorite! We went to Nauvoo and I learned so much and felt the spirit so strongly. My favorite was going to Carthage and feeling how strong the spirit was there. It was a very personal and touching experience to go to Nauvoo and see up close all that the pioneers went thorough. If you want more details just ask me because I will more than gladly share them, just not on the Internet. Friday we went to a lunch for Jayne's Ward and cleaned up a little. Jayne and I were able to get out and see a movie together, alone. Alexia couldn't understand why we would want to go to a movie without her and she cried a little but we still managed to go. We watched The Time Traveler's Wife, which I thought was really good. Saturday Brian wanted to go to the State Fair, which is huge compared to Utah's, but it was a lot of fun. We didn't find any corn though... which was shocking because Iowa is famous for their corn. Sunday I went back to the airport, took a 3 hour flight to Arizona, and drove home to Utah with the family. That's the basics of my vacation... Except that Alexia and I played Mario Party 8 for like an hour everyday...

School started this week and with it Upsilon!!!! YEAH!!! We had rush on Tuesday and we received new girls on Thursday, followed by a carnival. I am so excited for the new girls this year. They look like they will all fit in perfectly. A few of them went to high school with me and they look familiar. Friday I hiked Ensign peak with my friends for the first time. It is such a beautiful view from up there, and getting to be hyper with my friends is always a blast. Saturday I was able to go see the Scarlet Pimpernel, which I thought was really good and hilarious. Then I went to a wedding reception for one of my Upsilon sisters... she looked so beautiful and happy. Then I went to a Stomp at the Institute with my Upsilon sisters and it was tons of fun like it usually is. And that is the run down of my first week of school. I started my two classes... they are online so I am hoping to be able to stay on top of them and not feel too stressed. The End.

OH and P.s. Happy Birthday to Dad and Craig!!!

A wedding... and is it my vacation yet??

It has been a crazy week and I cannot wait for my vacation to Iowa to visit my wonderful sister and adorable niece! My friend Allison's wedding was yesterday, I was a bridesmaid for it and it was exhausting. I spent the night at her mom's house to have a "bachelorette party" (technically it was a finish the wedding details with a movie, candy, pizza, and virgin margaritas). I didn't fall asleep until about 2 and since I am a light sleeper I woke a few times. We had to make sure Alli was out the door by six thirty to get here hair done. Then the fun of getting all the bridesmaids showered, hair, and make up done so we could meet the new couple at the temple by ten thirty to take pictures. Then came the ring ceremony (where we left her husband's ring in the bride's room whoops) and a luncheon. The best man was cute and funny so it was fun talking to him during the reception and my dress wasn't too horrible (actually it was really cute). It was an exhausting couple of days but I know they are going to be so happy together! They are so cute and I love them both to death.

But apparently while I was gone all heck broke loose at my house... since mom is gone everyone else thinks it is OK to not so any chores. Not that they did much while she is here but it got worse. I came home that night to a complete mess and I asked Jared to help out a little and of course he gave me a look like I was the devil. So I told him to stay out of my way (in meaner words I am ashamed to say) and spent the day fixing the upstairs and not completely finishing yet. Mom I am love you so much and love how much you can get done and with so much patient. Wow I am ready for a break...

School starts next month. Gulp. But I am a little excited for school to start because that means upsilon will start back up!!! But we will be losing 4 of our girls to marriage... someone new gets engaged every time I turn around!!! I miss my upsilon girls so much they are such good friends and we always have so much fun together!!

Only 10 more days Alexia!!!

1 gerbil + 1 cat = one messy bedroom

I went into my room this morning to discover that the cat was already in there. She has managed to knock the gerbils cage off the desk this time and there was Jezebel's bedding was all over the floor. I was a little scared because I could see the cat but not the gerbil. I had to ask Smarmy where the gerbil was and when she looked under the desk I knew that Jeze was still alive. After kicking the cat out and chasing the gerbil down I succeeded on cleaning up the mess and getting both back to where they were suppose to be. It was quite entertaining if you were on the sidelines and not in my position.

The rest of my life has been pretty boring and I don't really have much else to talk about. Except only 17 more days until I get my much needed vacation!!

Moab

I had a lot of fun in Moab. Everyone said happy birthday to me about 10 each throughout the day, it was funny. (I went with my Singles Ward FYI.) We meet at the church then got into cars and left. We stopped at a park on our way in some town that starts with a W... I don't remember the name, and ate lunch. Then we went to the Red River Adventure in Moab and hopped in buses and went to the Colorado River. I was put on a raft with some pretty interesting members from my ward and they came up with a team name for us; Jasmine's Misfits, because it was my birthday. Our guide's name was Kyle, he was so funny and it was a blast to raft with him. One of the girls brought this giant squirt gun so the boys were squirting all the people who got close to us. Mostly they were squirting the duckies (those are the people who were on the 2 people kayaks). We pulled up to an island, ate our dinner, had a devotional, then pulled out our sleeping bags and slept under the stars. So funny, the Bishop was reading this letter form the father of the boy who passed away in the ward the night before, and everyone was on the verge of tears when we said a closing prayer; then the Bishop tells us that we can stay around the fire or go to bed and one of the girls stopped him and told him that everyone needed to sing Happy Birthday to me first. So the boy sitting in front of me turns his light on me so everyone can see me and all I can see is the light. Then after the song they wanted me to give a speech about what I have learned form my life... I was laughing so hard I could barely talk, then Adam finally turned his light off and everyone stopped looking at me. It was really funny.

The next day I woke up at about 5:30 because I am a really light sleeper and some of the other girls were moving around. I did get to see the sun rise while all the other girls went back to sleep and buried their heads in their sleeping bags. It was so pretty. I did end up waking up everyone who was still asleep when breakfast was about to start because I looked at the pillow sitting next to me and there was a huge spider on it about to climb on my leg. I jumped up and landed on the sleeping bag two spots away and was brushing off the spider that wasn't really there, needless to say everyone heard me scream and most saw my funny dance. Then we ate breakfast, packed up camp, and jumped back on the river to continue our adventure. I was the only one to actually fall in the river, but one of the duckies did tip over. We hit this huge rapid and the raft went one way while my body did a back flip off of it. The people on the raft were able to grab my life vest before the second rapid hit me. It was terrifying and fun at the same time.

When we were done on the river we dried on the beach then ate lunch. Then we hopped back on the buses and went back to our cars to drive home. I was able to take a little nap on the way home and sing along to Wicked, it was amazing. It was a fun birthday and a fantastic experience. When I got home I showered, threw all my clothes in the washer, and went to my friend's birthday party. That was an interesting party and I had a lot of fun. We made an interesting smoothie it was hilarious. It was quite the weekend.

Brithdays...

My apologise for not writing. I have been going a little crazy with school and work. I decided to take some classes for the summer. I decided that four would have been too many so I am only taking two. I took one that was a 12 day class and I turned in all the papers for it today, so I am done with that class. Tomorrow I start English 2010, it is an Internet class so no trips to the campus. Friday is my birthday (ahhhhhh!!!!) and I will be turning 19. Crazy, I know. But if you try to call me I might not answer because I will be in Moab with my ward water rafting. I am really excited. This summer is going to be fun I can just feel it.

Meh

So life has been boring for me lately. I have been at school and work and more school... with some random friend time thrown in there. It feels weird to me that in less than a month I will no longer be a college Freshman... Where does the time go? I don't know what to tell you about my life right now... Spring Break was amazing, school is boring, upsilon is coming to an end this year, and I in some dire need of sleep. I have decided to start going to the singles ward, maybe I can finally get a date or two... and I will start going not this sunday but next sunday. Thats about all I have right now.
