vacation and school started...

So I have gotten a lecture from some people (cough Mary cough cough) that I haven't posted about my vacation to the very exciting Iowa! (And yes it was exciting because Jayne and Alexia were there to entertain to me). I will give a basic run down of what happened:

Friday I flew to Arizona because the road trip idea failed when Grandpa Rob became sicker. So I met my Uncle Scotty at the airport and spent the night at his house. Then early Saturday morning I caught my 7 am, 2 hour and 45 minute flight from Mesa. When we finally touched down I was so excited to see Jayne and Alexia we caught each other up over hot dogs and root beer. Apparently Alexia and hot dogs go hand in hand... Mac and Cheese too... We took a tour of the city (it took a whole of 3 minutes, Yeah North Liberty) and walked around the mall. Sunday was Church; Jayne was hoping to introduce me to a cute boy... but he had already moved to Utah to attend BYU. Monday we spent the day at the Children's museum. Tuesday we went swimming, Alexia went off the high diving board but only after I did first. So we both had to conquer our fears... mine is heights... and jump! Wednesday I babysat while Jayne and her companion went visiting teaching. Thursday was my favorite! We went to Nauvoo and I learned so much and felt the spirit so strongly. My favorite was going to Carthage and feeling how strong the spirit was there. It was a very personal and touching experience to go to Nauvoo and see up close all that the pioneers went thorough. If you want more details just ask me because I will more than gladly share them, just not on the Internet. Friday we went to a lunch for Jayne's Ward and cleaned up a little. Jayne and I were able to get out and see a movie together, alone. Alexia couldn't understand why we would want to go to a movie without her and she cried a little but we still managed to go. We watched The Time Traveler's Wife, which I thought was really good. Saturday Brian wanted to go to the State Fair, which is huge compared to Utah's, but it was a lot of fun. We didn't find any corn though... which was shocking because Iowa is famous for their corn. Sunday I went back to the airport, took a 3 hour flight to Arizona, and drove home to Utah with the family. That's the basics of my vacation... Except that Alexia and I played Mario Party 8 for like an hour everyday...

School started this week and with it Upsilon!!!! YEAH!!! We had rush on Tuesday and we received new girls on Thursday, followed by a carnival. I am so excited for the new girls this year. They look like they will all fit in perfectly. A few of them went to high school with me and they look familiar. Friday I hiked Ensign peak with my friends for the first time. It is such a beautiful view from up there, and getting to be hyper with my friends is always a blast. Saturday I was able to go see the Scarlet Pimpernel, which I thought was really good and hilarious. Then I went to a wedding reception for one of my Upsilon sisters... she looked so beautiful and happy. Then I went to a Stomp at the Institute with my Upsilon sisters and it was tons of fun like it usually is. And that is the run down of my first week of school. I started my two classes... they are online so I am hoping to be able to stay on top of them and not feel too stressed. The End.

OH and P.s. Happy Birthday to Dad and Craig!!!

I cannot believe that you failed to mention all of Alexia's wonderful bike tricks. Who else can sing Hannah Montana songs at the top of their lungs while riding in a straight line? A true talent that Alexia!

Also, you failed to mention the chicken lips! Another Iowa favorite.
